UX for an Information-heavy Site
As a utilities company serving both commercial and residential properties, AELP had a lot of important information to share with their customers to answer specific questions like, “How can I save on energy costs?” and “How do I report an outage?” The answers had to be clear and to the point and the steps to them needed to be simple on any device. One of the ways we did this was by creating a series of category overview pages with minimal copy that allow visitors to follow a logical path to the answer to their questions.
A Proud History and Exciting Future
AELP has been serving Juneau and its surrounding area since the late 19th century. In 2014, they were acquired by Avista Corp. of Spokane Washington, who were intent on preserving the history of AELP. Station Four worked to create a complete history portion of the site where a living timeline documents past and future milestones. As a final nod towards the future of AELP, the team revised the company’s logo to give it a more modern look and feel.
