Our Design Philosophy
We typically, unless special circumstances arise, design database schemas in the 4th Normal Form. This ensures that data in the database is unique and not redundant. This will guarantee the integrity and significance of your data and allow you to run absolutely accurate reports against your database. In addition, it allows you to create indexes in your database which greatly increase the performance. If you’ve even worked with an application that used a database that was not normalized, you’ll quickly see the limitations of the application which stem from a poor database design.
