Bringing Care to Northeast Florida’s Children
Wolfson Children’s Hospital has partnered with 6 other local entities to open a School-Based Health Center in Jacksonville. They did this because of the realization that many children in northeast Florida are not getting the health care they need. These clinics provide preventative care as well as other ongoing health services to students of Jean Ribault Middle and High Schools as well as Sallye B. Mathis Elementary School.
When designing the site, the clinics were not yet opened, so the design team faced the challenge of working without photographic content. To circumvent this, we created custom illustrations of each school and placed them on an artful background of the Jacksonville skyline. They are bright, colorful, and recognizably reminiscent of each building while being vague enough to represent future school initiatives.
The site is strikingly colorful yet highly informative and concise. It also meets accessibility standards so that all audiences can navigate the site and gain access to quality healthcare.
