SOMM Navigator: Custom ASP.NET Application Development

Working with national contracting leader Hensel Phelps and local firm Performance Engineering Group, Station Four created a custom application for the System Operations and Maintenance Manuals (SOMM) for the Pentagon, utilizing technologies such as ASP.NET 4.0, Silverlight, and Entity Framework. This intranet project was a state-of-the-art solution for facility maintenance and operations.

Easy to use interface sitting on a mountain of data

In case you didn't know, the Pentagon is one big building. In fact, at 6.5 million square feet, it's the world's largest office building. As Hensel Phelps, one of the largest general contractors in the United States, was approaching the end of a nearly decade-long renovation of the Pentagon, it became clear that they couldn't just hand millions and millions of pages of equipment manuals, specs, and drawings to the government and call it a day.

Enter Station Four. We helped conceptualize a highly efficient system for technicians to access information they needed quickly. Then we created a custom ASP.NET application that conformed to the demanding specifications of the Department of Defense's requirements for applications running on their network.

Story Boarding: Planning Interactivity

These are a group of story boards we created to communicate to the client the interactive effects and functionality of the building map.
